What were some major changes in economic developments and innovations from 1750-1900?

Adam Smith developed ideas of capitalism. Capitalism is the idea that people and businesses are free to use their money without government intervention. Soon we see mercantilism fade away. Mercantilism is the idea of using colonies to trade with other countries and produce foreign goods. Mercantilism would no longer be the dominant economic policy and be replaced by capitalism.
