"Home?" Here I am, 16 years old.
In this space supposedly called "home."
I wake up and I feel trapped in my body.
'Cause no one can hear me.
No, not anybody.
I thought that's what I wanted.
For others to listen.
Though, every time I try to speak
my eyes start to glisten.
Family thinks I need help.
Says I'm depressed and insecure.
Maybe but, how do you know?
What can you infer?
Friends think I'm happy and the sweetest person they know.
Yes, I keep the feelings deep down, below.
So, that they will never know.
I don't want to be a burden to them.
So, I don't tell them, "What's going on?"
It's better that way.
Especially when I don't know how to respond.
