In what ways has Islamic terrorism presented a challenge to Muslims and to non-Muslim Americans/Europeans?

Intolerance and discrimination against Muslims has increased with Islamic terrorism, as it perpetuates the stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists. Additionally, many Muslims, along with many non-Muslim Americans and Europeans, have suffered from conflict caused by Islamic terrorism.
