How has the legislative branch expanded civil rights? (ap government )

The legislative branch is the branch of government which is responsible for making, or having the power to make, a law or laws.

The members of a legislature are called legislators.

The major functions of the legislative branch are;

1) representation,

2) deliberation,

3) legislation,

4) authorizing expenditure,

5) making governments, and

6) oversight

Now in the expansion of civil rights, the legislative branch has served as representatives by representing the interests of the society as a whole.
