Why is the timbre is the “first filter” in musical decision making that determines which styles of music an individual enjoys

The timbre is a very important thing in music. The sound wave is recieved by our earls like electrical impulses that comes to your brain. So if the timbre creates sound wave that can be perceived by our brain, we hear music like it should be. That's whe the timbpe is the main characteristic in music.
