The album began by putting distance: The Beatles played Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Ringo, as a kind of master of ceremonies, put on Billy Shears' shoes. If with Revolver they had crossed a border - they were no longer a performance band: they were a group of studios -, with Sgt. Pepper's skipped even the music sets.
