The first image uses much more shading and texture; using techniques such as hatching and crosshatching to show shadow and add value. It also has very thin, less defined lines than the second image. It is blended slightly, whereas the other image has no blending at all. The other image, however, uses much less shading and instead has bold, dramatic lines which adds much more contrast but is therefore more simplistic. It then appears much darker and bolder.
