To make a heart 3-D add another heart in the background that is mostly covered By the one in the foreground. Then use two line on the end of the heart to connect the two.

Maybe because it was so unique, a form of art, and they could easily store things in it and no one had ever done that before. i’m not sure but that’s what i think : )

Symbolism creates a "hidden meaning" of some sort without obviously showing it kind of like the "ophelia among the flowers" a beautiful peace but it does not look like anything right? if you  discover  the hidden meaning being the chaos and conflicts within ones mind youll see the art as having more meaning than just flowers.
