How have the performances of baroque music changed (in terms of tempo, balance and timbre) from the baroque period to today?

Today, baroque music is played to mainly please modern listeners. The tempiwas slower and more deliberate in the baroque period than what we play today.An unsteady tempi was also developed For today’s baroque music, whereasregular tempo was used in the actual baroque period. The balance has changedbecause in piano concertos’ it’s given prominence. But in harpsichordperFormances, it is pushed to the soundscape background; it is barely audibletoday. The timbre today is also based on a lighter sounding harpsichord Fromplaces like ²rance rather than the German heavier, richer sounding ones Fromthe baroque times.
