2. Painting “The Ancient Days” by William Blake It draws its name from one of depicts Urizen, embodiment of conventional reason and law, crouching in a circular design with a cloud-like background. The name “The Ancient Days” has its origins in the one of God’s titles in the Book of Daniel and was originally the frontispiece to the  work Europe a Prophecy (1794).
