Adeline, age 90, still drives her car to the senior center every friday. last week she told you that someone you know from her church died. when you ask her for the person's name, she says, "i can't remember her name. she sits near the front and always has a hat on." clearly adeline has better memory than memory.

Answer is short-term, long-term

Short-term memory is a called working memory. It holds the information you are currently thinking about. It holds information temporarily and soon can be forgotten unless a conscious effort to be made to retain it. Short-term memory stores interpretation of the image only.

Long-term memory holds unlimited amount of information for long time or it holds information permanently.
