Interspecific competition is the competition between species inhabiting in the same ecological area. Competition is for limiting resources. Resources are the features of the environment availability of food, habitat etc which regulate growth, survival and reproduction in these organisms. As a result of this phenomena species undergo evolution. One species which develops more evolutionary traits will be favored to get the limiting resources and will be more competitive than the other. The weaker competitive species will reduce in population. Joseph Connell (1961) who was an ecologist studied factors which can influence the survival, reproduction and distribution of two barnacle species, Chthamalus stellatus and Balanus balanoids,  along the coast of Scotland. He observed that Balanus being more competitive excluded Chthamalus.

A part of forest is cut for housing development. This will lead to limitation in forest resources. Those species thrive for the same resource will compete with each other. Species will undergo adaptation. More adaptive species has more chances for occupying the resource and better chances of survival than the less adaptive species.

sheep is a herbivore animal whereas grasshopper belongs to the class chordates but both of them feed on greens.  

if grasshopper and sheep feeding on a pasture land, i do not think both of them will have any impact on each other. however, the number of the species can make difference. since sheep feed on greens, there is a possibility there left no pasture land for the grasshoppers or they may get extinct.
