DNA polymerase is an enzyme which exists as several DNA polymerases. DNA polymerase I and DNA polymerase III are the main DNA polymerases. These are involved in DNA replication, proofreading and repair of DNA. During the process of replication, DNA polymerase adds nucleotides on the RNA primer. It adds 1000 bases per second. It is very accurate in assembling nucleotides during replication.
