Altering the natural flow of water and drainage channels can disturb the natural process that filter and clean our fresh water. Disrupting the flow will impact all organisms in that area that rely on it for their water source.

Construction-

Clearing forests and plants to build housing, roads, bridges, dams, tunnels, and other structures can add dirt, pollution, chemical runoff, and debris to the water supply.

Shipping-

Shipping and transporting goods can disrupt the natural balance of the waterways by adding pollution and disturbing the marine life that lives in the water. Cargo ships can also carry invasive species from one destination to another.

Recreation-

Going to the beach, boating, and snorkeling can cause damage to the waterways and the marine life that live there in the form of pollution, debris left behind, and upsetting of the delicate balance of the nutrients in the water.

These are all ways humans impact our water qualit.

it has to be understood that the sea water contains a huge amount of sodium and chlorine ions and if they enter the cell of the atlantic cod fish, the cell will shrivel and the fish will die. to avoid such a condition, the fish uses active transport for the purpose of removing the ions against the gradient.
