Remote sensing is science of measuring the earth using sensors on airplanes or satellites. These sensors used in this technology collect data in the form of images and provide specialized systems for manipulating, analyzing, and visualizing those images.  We can also relate it to the science of collecting data regarding an object or a phenomenon without any physical contact with the object.
