Which landforms are present in andean countries

If we talk about Andean states, they comprise a group of areas in  South America that are connected with each other through Andes mountain range. "Andean States" refers to seven countries that the Andes  mountain range runs through and the areas that share share languages, culture and cuisines.

These areas include Colombia ,Ecuador ,Bolivia, Venezuela  and Peru.

Landforms of Andean countries:

The Andes comprise longest range of mountains in the world and arc from northwestern South America to the western coast to Patagonia.

They also constitute major component of the Pacific Ring of Fire, that is a circle of volcanic centers near Pacific basins that comprise tectonic boundaries between continental and oceanic plates.

Andes are further sub-divided into two or three nonvolcanic  and volcanic folded mountain ranges that get separate by lofty plateaus.

Two of the highest peaks of the Andes Argentina’s 22,841-foot high peak and volcano Ojos del Salado astride that is 22,615-foot high.

The Andes, also contains glaciers in some parts of the ranges, arid heights and also ice-laced moving boulders that are commonly known as “rock glaciers.”

Shields are the highland areas and ancient parts of South American continent.  There are different shield areas like Brazilian Shield that covers huge portion of south America, The Guiana Shield  that is at north of Amazon Basin and contains big, isolated lands called “tepuis”.

Similarly, The Patagonian Shield that lies in the south region and contains streams and  draining off the mountains.

The basins are Massive sedimentary  lands that comprise the rest of the part of South America. These include the  Amazon, Orinoco and Chaco-Pampa.

The Orinoco comprises a tectonic lowland that is filled with  Caribbean coastal ranges. This is the basin from where Orinoco River emerges.

Amazon Basin is drained by the largest river of the world and contains world's almost twenty percent fresh water that it delivers to the seas and oceans.
