How many codons equal an amino acid?

The base three amino acids are represented by three codons. DNA is made up of three different bases and one codon is made up of three bases and thus there exists 64 codons which in totality represents 20 amino acids. Sequence of three nucleotides  code for one specific amino acid and one codon is made up of three nucleotides.
