found the the male cones release pollen into the air. the wind then carries the pollen to the female cones. the pollen gets stuck in a sticky liquid produced by the ovule. sperm from the pollen fertilize the egg in the ovule. the ovule then develops into a seed. when the seed is mature, it is dispersed. if conditions are good, the seed grows into a seedling, which grows into a tree. the tree produces cones, and the cycle begins again.
