Ageiger counter can be used to find radioactive metals like uranium because radioactive metal gives off rays of energy that hit
the tube of the geiger counter and break apart the atoms of air inside. the parts of these atoms bounce around, creating an
electric current that travels through a wire from the tube into the box of the counter. this turns a gauge which may be a light, a
"clicker," a meter, or all three. the more radioactive and the closer the metal is to the tube, the stronger the electric current, and
the more powerful the reaction of the gauge.
