In this lab, biology students were directed to use indicators as chemical detection tools, to analyze a variety of foods for the presence of carbohydrates, lipids or proteins. they preformed a specific test for carbohydrates, a benedict test. the results for the presence of glucose can be seen here. students wanted to use the same test for a variety of other carbohydrates. the test would work for all but one of the carbohydrates listed here.
