What could happen to the reproductive process of mosses during a drought? the flagellated sperm would not be able to swim to the eggs for fertilization. the flagellated sperm and eggs would go dormant until water was available. mitosis in the sporophyte would cease and the reproductive cycle would stop. meiosis in the sporophyte would cease and the reproductive cycle would stop.
