In Meiosis, the new cells are different in that each one has half of the DNA - or half the number of chromosomes. Meiosis allows for the creation of cells that allows for sexual reproduction. Meiosis is the process that creates sperm and eggs. These cells are known as haploid cells - in that other cells are known as diploid, with full DNA and cells that have gone through the meiosis process have half and are known as haploid cells.
