Whether an organism will get their foods or not, is determined by that ecosystem where it lives. From the knowledge of the food chain, we know that there are many types of consumers in a food chain. Some of them are self-dependent for their food, and some of them are dependent on others for their food. Now, if any organism won't get their food from the food chain, they can't survive and can't grow.

Human is an omnivorous species. This means it can eat all. In the food chain of an ecosystem, it can become the secondary consumer and also can become a tertiary consumer. Even it can be a predator too. As an example, we know that in the ecosystem of forest grasses or plants is the producer, deer is the primary consumer, and the tiger is the secondary consumer. Now, a human can eat the dear, and along with this, it can hurt or kill the tiger. This means, a human can be a secondary consumer here and can also be a predator.

Through this type of human activity, competition happens in a food chain. As a result, an organism might don't get their food, and as a result, they can't survive and can't grow.
