Back then, there was an explosion that happened during the drilling process in the Gulf of Mexico.
There were an explosion on the oil well. This explosion resulted in the contamination of oil to the soil near the environment.

the trade off is, even though we manage to get a lot of source of energy from the oil drilling, we also responsible for destroying the ecosystem in that area
