How do fungi obtain their food?

a. they produce their own via chemosynthesis.

b mushrooms grow on their food source acting as a mouth.

c. release exoenzymes that digest it- then absorb it.

d ingest directly through their stomata.

Some types of fungi are parasites. They get their food by growing on other living organisms and getting their food from that organism. Other types of fungi get their food from dead matter. These fungi decompose, or break down, dead plants and animals.

There are many types of fungi. Some are parasites that sap energy off of their hosts. Others are decomposers, and release secretions to absorb and decompose dead plant and animal matter.

for  example, forests have higher evapotranspiration than other ecosystems,  such  as grasslands, because of their deeper roots and greater leaf area. thus forests have a net moistening effect on the atmosphere and become a moisture source for downwind ecosystems.
