•describe which traits are inherited from parents, and an explanation of how they are received from genes. what are dominant traits in the family?

•define the words “gene” and “chromosome” so that a person without a science background will understand them.

•describe how many genes and chromosomes can be found in the human body, and how they influence physical appearance and other traits.

•imagine other traits that could have been received from parents: maybe one parent has brown hair and the other has red hair, but the child has brown hair. explain to the

best of your abilities why a certain hair color or other traits may come from parents, but not other traits that may be exhibited.
