Explanation:

Nephron is the basic structural and functional unit of kidney. It has 3 main parts, proximal convoluted tubule, loop of Henle and distal convoluted tubule. Absorption of water mainly occurs in the descending limb of loop of Henle, although it is absorbed in all three parts of nephron.

Initially, the water is absorbed from descending limb, which makes the urine concentrated. Then, from the ascending limb, Na and other ions are absorbed to make urine more concentrated. This high concentration eases the absorption of water from distal convoluted tubule.
