Acid desposition is very harmful for the environment because it can easily combine with primary pollutants like carbon monoxide, particulate matter, sulfur oxide etc and form harmful substances.

Acid desposition means acid forming pollutants in the atmosphere that can easily combines with the primary pollutants which is emitted from car and energy power plants.One of the major culprit is sulful dioxide which is released from car. Once they react with water, produce sulfuric acid and nitric acid. Their pH is extremely low thus they acts as acid.These acidic desposition create hazards in aquatic body,wetlands,aquatic fishes,shell fishes,may cause nitrogen pollution and also cause damage in ecosystem.This is the main reason that acidic desposition often felt in area far from pollutants so that it does't hamper the ecosystem.
