The general purpose of feedback inhibition is to regulate the amount of the final product of an enzyme that is produced, if feedback inhibition happens when it isn’t supposed to, it can harm the body by having too much or not enough of the final product.

Allosteric interactions are usually located at strategic points in the enzymatic pathways, in the first steps or at branching points between several pathways.

When the final product of a sequence of reactions acts as an allosteric effector, inhibiting the function of one of the enzymes, it is called feedback inhibition and it represents energy savings, since the excess of the final product inhibits its own synthesis in the first steps.

It is very efficient since it prevents the excess of the final product, it is very common in the metabolic routes.This type of control adjusts the reaction rate based on the amount of final product required and prevents the final product from accumulating to dangerous levels.

Therefore, we can conclude that the general purpose of feedback inhibition is to regulate the amount of the final product of an enzyme that is produced, if feedback inhibition happens when it isn’t supposed to, it can harm the body by having too much or not enough of the final product.

Feedback inhibition prevents signalling molecule to bind to the desired receptor to generate a cellular response. Feedback inhibition restricts the formation of the many products. It also helps in balancing of the amino acid and the building block of protein. If it happens when it is not supposed to, it could cause cellular malfunction & lead to diseases like diabetes. If it occurs when not supposed then the route of the product will be altered may be become excess or insufficient amount.
