1. Mitosis: In this type of cell division, the DNA and number of chromosomes of the daughter cell remain same as the parent cell. Mitosis takes place when part of the body gets injured and this process repairs it. It leads to cloning of same types of cells again and again as identical cells are produced. There are different stages of mitosis:
