The Internet has taken some of the unpredictability and randomness out of human interactions. How might this be a bad thing? We are less likely to stumble into a friendship with someone who is exactly on our wavelength. We are less likely to be challenged by making friends with different backgrounds and interests from ours. The frequency and depth of our interactions decreases.
