Explanation: The primary motor area lies in the frontal lobe of the brain immediately anterior to the central sulcus.the cell bodies are pyramid shaped and they control skeletal muscle activities.two neurons are involved in the pathway to skeletal muscle(the upper motor neurone and the lower motor neurone).The upper motor neurone descends from the motor cortex if the brain through the internal capsule of the medulla oblongata,then it CROSSES TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE and descends in the spinal cord.

From the spinal cord,it joins with the lower motor neurone whivh leaves the spinal cord and goes to the target muscle.

When either of these neurones is damaged,it results to paralysis.
