What is the need for cycling of carbon in ecosystems

The need for carbon cycling of carbon dioxide between biotic and abiotic components of an ecosystem are;

• Photosynthesis

• Respiration and

• Decay.

The carbon compounds are the vehicles through which the trapped solar energy passes from organism to organism in the food chains of an ecosystem Carbon of carbon dioxide is incorporated into sugars and other complex organic compounds in plant tissues which is been eaten up by animals; these plants is been digested, absorbed and built up in the animals tissues. Then carbon atoms are then been passed from plants become animals.
