Given the following nucleotide sequences.

A) Determine the number of mutations between the 2 sequences.
B) Translate each sequence into one letter amino acid code.
C) For each site in the sequence, determine the synonymous and non-synonymous sites.
D) Sum those sites to get a total for total synonymous and non-synonymous sites.
E) Calculate dN and ds for the sequences and provide the dN/dS ratio
where: dN = # of non-synonymous substitutions/ # of non-synonymous sites
dS = # of synonymous substitutions/# of synonymous sites
F) What is your conclusion on what is happening with regards to selection given your calculated ratio at the locus represented by these?
