The importance of the inner membranes separating different regions of the mitochondrion and the chloroplast is the following:  

In the inner membranes of the mitochondrion are the systems dedicated to the transport of the electrons that are released in the previous oxidations.  

Also, there is a set of proteins (respiratory corpuscles) of vital importance since they are in charge of coupling the energy released from the electronic transport with the synthesis of ATP.  

On the other hand, within the inner membrane of the chloroplast it contains specific proteins essential for the electron transport chain.  

Among some of its components we can mention some such as ribosomes, lipids, starch or double-stranded circular DNA molecules.  

Therefore, we can conclude that the main compartment of the mitochondria from the functional point of view is the matrix and the inner membrane that delimits it and the inner membrane of the chloroplast contains proteins that allow other processes of photosynthesis to be carried out.

As you already know, clotoplaspos and mitochondria have internal and external members. As everything in nature is done in a functional way, the internal membranes are extremely important in the functioning of these two molecules.

In mitochondria, the internal membranes are responsible for delimiting the mitochondrial matrix, which is a fluid that contains enzymes, DNA, RNA and ribosomes.

In chloroplasts, the inner membrane is also responsible for delimiting a fluid that contains all the molecules and ions that are needed inside and outside the chloroplast.
