Soils vary throughout the world. Climate, elevation, plant growth; these are just some factors that influence weathering and soil formation. This is a mountain in Canada. It is located in the taiga. Notice the large rocks rolling down the side of the mountain. Weathering will eventually break down these rocks into smaller particles that form soil.
