Discuss the rationale behind taxonomists placing animals in different taxonomic groups. Like a shark and dolphin, platypus and duck, hawk and owl even though they have very similar body form and share other traits as well, they are not in the same class or order. What are the key traits or processes that scientists use in classification? Give an example of separate but similar species and why they separated?
