Cartilage is avascular, meaning it is not infused with blood and regular connective tissues have poor blood supply also, meaning there is a presence of thick collagenous fibers. Joints require weight bearing and are under constant force or pressure so they are slower to heal. Bones have blood supplied to them faster which makes the recovery faster.
