Why do you think so many codons code for the same amino acids what benefit might this provide to organisms on earth

Many codons code for the same amino acids and the advantage of this phenomenon in organisms is the reduction of deformities and damages caused as a result of mutations.

This means if a mistake or mutation happens during translation there is a great chance of it not having grave consequences on the organisms because the altered codon will still code for the same amino acid and doesn’t disrupt the processes this is to be undergone.
