Explanation:

Digestion is generally the process of breaking down complex food substances into their simplest form. However, as easy as this sounds, there are series of processes that must take place in between to achieve the final result.

Once a food substance like guava enters the mouth (ingestion), it initially gets chewed by the TEETH in order to break it down to smaller masses that can be swallowed. During the process of chewing, the TONGUE helps to move the food around the mouth and later helps push it down the gullet/digestive tract. SALIVA, on the other hand, creates a moisturizing environment for the food to form a Bolus (round mass of food ready to pass down the esophagus). The saliva also contains an enzyme called AMYLASE that helps chemically degrade starch content of the food before passed through the digestive tract.
