Primary Succession needs time to pass starting from rocks to lichens and mosses to grasses, etc. Secondary Succession, on the other hand, is formed from a disaster or human interaction on an ecosystem that was most likely in bad shape. Secondary Succession will definitely help an ecosystem because it adds more nutrients to the soil afterwards.
