Having many cells help large organisms maintain homeostasis because larger organisms have smaller surface-area to volume ratio ( i.e. does not require large cell to carryout every function in the organism ).

Certain single celled organisms like Amoeba which are flat in nature possess a high surface area to volume ratio therefore diffusion of materials into them are faster and this makes it difficult for them to achieve homeostasis.

Larger cells will definitely posses a larger surface-area to volume ratio and hardly achieve homeostasis.
