If blue crabs dropped out of the food chain, I would expect to see a decline in eels, drums, spots, Atlantic croakers, striped bass, sea trout, and catfish because crabs are an important food source for these organisms. Some sharks, cownose rays, Kemp’s  riddley, and loggerhead sea turtles also eat on blue crabs at different stages of life. If blue crabs dropped out of the food chain, it is possible that  population with decline in any of these organism from the Bay.
