2. Fill the plastic container with water ¾ full.
3. Use your piece of aluminum foil to design and build your ship.
4. Estimate on the data table how many pennies you think your design will hold.
5. Place your ship in the water filled tub and watch it float.
6. Now add one penny to the ship at a time until the ship starts to sink. When the ship starts to take on water, STOP! Remember to count your pennies as you add them.
7. Record this number on your data table.
8. Rethink your design. How could you make your ship stronger?
9. Clean up any spilled water and wipe down your work area.
