The student placed small diskshaped pieces of fresh cut leaves into 5 cups with various concentrations of bicarbonate solutions ( a source of carbon dioxide ) and exposed all of the cups to the same light intensity . The students observed bubbles and the number of leaf disks floated after 20 minutes of light exposure
