Observations and Analysis of Snorg DNA
You are given a chromosome from a Snorg with the following sequence. You will note that the
chromosome is divided into sections of three for ease of coding. Each gene has only 3 'amino
acids'. Your job is to determine the sequence of amino acids for your specimen, and determine
its traits. In order to do this complete the following steps:
a) Write the complimentary mRNA codon for each DNA triplet in the first row.
b) Once you have decoded the mRNA, skip down to the third row and determine its
matching 'amino acid' using chart A.
c) In the remaining row write the code for the tRNA anticodon corresponding to the mRNA
you just wrote in part a).
d) Using triplets of amino acids, determine the traits of your Snorg using Chart B.
