The photosynthetic process takes place in two stages namely: light dependent reaction and light-independent reactions.

The light dependent reaction or simply light reaction is the stage where light energy from the sun is harnessed by a pigment called CHLOROPHYLL and used to produce ATP needed to build glucose molecules in the next stage.
