Why might ozone pollution or acid rain change an entire ecosystem?

It might pollute the air and water so most animals have to go, and the animals who are completely fine, they won't have any food so they'll end up dying. The ones who left, there's a 95% chance they won't survive. They had to leave because mostly everything (Water, air, food, and plants) was polluted.
