How can humans be genetically modified

It looks like there are two main ways to modify humans :)

Explanation:

1. Somatic genetic modification would be the direct way to genetically modify through adding or cutting some of the cells of an existing person usually to alleviate a medical condition (but the results are not hereditary)

2. Germline genetic modification is also a direct way to genetically modify but instead using molecular engineering techniques (this would be hereditary)
