Cats plays the role of pets by human beings from many centuries, as they are considered as loyal and more over holds a place in the history of the human civilizations. But, if look into its biological background and analyze its phenotypic traits and properties, they look more similar to most of the lions, tigers, lynx and many other species which are categorized inside the family Felidae.

There are many organisms which share some of the phenotypical traits with the cats, and most of them are considered are also considered as "big cats", as they include the lions, tigers, and many other organisms from the same family. While, the cats are more smaller in size and have less developed features as compared to the other species related. As the cats can not roar while they can only purr, along with which cats have less hunting instinct and are found mostly eating the food offered by there masters or look for left overs.

the last one: artificial selection/genetic engineering

plant breeding is modifying the genetic composition of the plant - but this isn't cloning (which is specifically introducing a gene into a genome). but you are artificially selecting for the phenotype that you want.

the second one is literally genetic engineering - the gene would have been cloned first and then inserted or genetically engineered into the new plant cell (the cotton).
